New Delhi [India], September 9 (ANI): Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday extended heartfelt wishes to the newly elected Vice President CP Radhakrishnan.
In a post on social media X, Chouhan applauded Radhakrishnan's foresight, contemplation and continuous active engagement, stating that it would lead to an unprecedented enhancement in the dignity and prestige of Rajya Sabha, and would help establish new benchmarks on the path of public welfare and national resurgence.

'Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the esteemed Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan Ji on being elected to the position of Vice President. Your foresight, contemplation, and continuous active engagement will undoubtedly lead to an unprecedented enhancement in the dignity and prestige of the Rajya Sabha. Under your leadership, the Upper House will establish new benchmarks on the path of public welfare and national resurgence,' Chouhan posted.
Chouhan further stated in his post that the election process was completed with immense enthusiasm.
'The election process was completed with immense enthusiasm. It has been my privilege to participate in this dignified occasion and fulfil my democratic duty. Best wishes for a glorious tenure!' the post read.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also extended his wishes to Radhakrishnan.

'Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan Ji, the NDA's candidate for the Vice Presidency, on being elected to the office of Vice-President,' the post read.
Radhakrishnan defeated INDIA bloc nominee Justice B Sudershan Reddy by 152 votes in the Vice Presidential elections held between 10 am and 5 pm on Tuesday.
A total of 98.20 per cent voter turnout was found in the Vice Presidential elections, wherein 767 MPs cast their vote out of 781.
Meanwhile, INDIA bloc candidate B Sudershan Reddy extended his warm wishes to Radhakrishnan.
In a statement following the Vice Presidential election result, Reddy said that he will continue his ideological battle with even 'greater vigour' despite the result not being in his favour.
'Though the result is not in my favour, the larger cause we have collectively sought to advance remains undiminished. The ideological battle continues with ever greater vigour. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the leaders of the Opposition parties who made me their joint candidate. Our democracy is strengthened not by victory alone, but by the spirit of dialogue, dissent, and participation. I remain committed, as a citizen, to upholding the ideals of equality, fraternity, and liberty that bind us together. May our Constitution continue to be the guiding light of our national life. I wish the Vice President-elect CP Radhakrishnan the very best as he embarks upon his tenure,' B Sudershan Reddy said in a statement.
He further termed his journey as a 'profound honour', stating that it has guided constitutional morality, justice, and the dignity of his life.
'Today, the MPs have rendered their verdict in the election for the office of the Vice President of India. I humbly accept this outcome with an abiding faith in the democratic processes of our great Republic. This journey has been a profound honour, offering me the opportunity to stand for the values that have guided my life: constitutional morality, justice, and the dignity of every individual,' the statement added.
