Patna (Bihar) [India], September 4 (ANI): RJD chief Lalu Yadav on Thursday lashed out at the BJP over its statewide bandh in Bihar, accusing the party's workers of 'abusing and mistreating' women of the state.
Taking to a social media post on X, Lalau Yadav questioned whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi had 'ordered BJP members to abuse the mothers, sisters and daughters of Bihar and Biharis.'
'Has Prime Minister Modi ordered the BJP members to abuse the mothers, sisters, and daughters of Bihar and Biharis today? Gujaratis shouldn't underestimate Biharis. This is Bihar. BJP goons and ruffians are abusing respected teachers, women walking on the streets, students, pregnant women, the elderly, and journalists, engaging in physical altercations and mistreating them? Is this appropriate? Shameful!' the social media post reads.

Meanwhile, RJD leader and Bihar Leader of Opposition (LoP) Tejashwi Yadav criticised Prime Minister Modi, accusing him of making 'false promises' to the people of Bihar.
He also took a dig at the Prime Minister and questioned his intentions, suggesting that the BJP wants to exploit Bihar's votes for electoral gains while they set up factories in Gujarat.
The social media post reads, 'Modi Ji! Bihar will not fall for your false promises. This time's issue is poverty, unemployment, crime, migration, better health and education system! You want victory from Bihar and will set up factories in Gujarat! The people of Bihar are not made for labor work.'

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is observing Bihar Bandh over the derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's late mother at a Mahagathbandhan event in Bihar.
The controversy comes ahead of the Bihar assembly elections, expected to be held in October or November. The elections are likely to be a crucial test for both the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan alliance, with each side vying for power and seeking to win over voters.
Earlier today, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad strongly condemned the derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's late mother during the Voter Adhikar Yatra event in Darbhanga.
Speaking to ANI, the BJP MP condemned the act and called it very 'shameful'. 'It is very shameful that PM Modi's late mother was abused and they have not apologised till now. I want to tell Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav that if someone from our party had used this kind of language, we would have taken strict action against him,' Prasad said. (ANI)
