(250822) -- KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 22, 2025 (Xinhua) -- This photo taken on Aug. 22, 2025 shows the site of a runway accident at an airport in Pahang state, Malaysia. A Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) jet was involved in a runway accident at an airport in Malaysia's Pahang state on Thursday.

The jet, an F/A-18D Hornet, was involved in the accident at 9:05 p.m. local time, the RMAF said in a statement.

According to Bernama, the pilot and co-pilot have been recovered and are receiving treatment. Videos circulating on social media show the jet moving along the runway with bright sparks emanating from it during takeoff. (Bernama via Xinhua)
