New Delhi [India], August 21 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday reaffirmed her commitment to public service following an attack on her earlier this week, stating that she would continue to fight for the interests of Delhi despite facing 'unexpected blows' and would never 'abandon' the national capital.

In a post on social media platform X, Gupta said women possess 'double the strength' to overcome adversity and must pass numerous tests to prove themselves.
She added that public hearings would now be conducted not only at her residence but in every assembly constituency across Delhi.
'When I was in college, Papa gave me a car to drive. One day, a big accident happened. I got scared and became afraid to even touch the car again. Then Papa said that accidents happen in life, but you can't stop out of fear. You can't stop walking on the path,' the post read.
'Today, his same lesson comes to mind again. Yesterday, another accident happened, but I can never stop fighting for the interests of Delhiites. Every moment of my life and every particle of my body is dedicated to Delhi. Despite all these unexpected blows, I will never abandon Delhi,' she added.
'Anyway, women have double the strength to fight through difficulties. They have to pass countless tests to prove themselves. I am ready too! Now, public hearings will not only be held at my home but in every assembly of Delhi. Your Chief Minister, at your doorstep,' Gupta wrote.
'Obstacles may come, let them come, Let the dark clouds of calamity surround, Embers beneath the feet, If flames rain down on the head, With our own hands, laughing and smiling, We must set fire and burn, We must march forward together,' she further wrote in the post.
On Tuesday, the Chief Minister was attacked during a public hearing at her official residence in Civil Lines. The accused was identified as Rajesh Khimji, a resident of Rajkot, Gujarat.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police are investigating the matter from all angles and are coordinating with Rajkot Police, sources said. Central agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau (IB), have also joined the probe. (ANI)
