New Delhi [India], May 25 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday expressed gratitude for being part of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Chief Ministers' Conclave, held in the national capital under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Delhi Chief Minister stated that there was an in-depth discussion on the different needs and possibilities of the states, which will pave the way for making favourable policies for every sector and giving new impetus to development.

In a social media post on X, Delhi Chief Minister said, 'Today I had the privilege of attending the meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Chief Ministers' Council under the successful leadership of the respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji in New Delhi. In this important meeting, I got the opportunity to meet the Chief Ministers of different states of the country and understand their feelings, experiences and the challenges faced in development work and its solutions.'

Highlighting PM Modi's leadership qualities, CM Gupta said that the Prime Minister's farsightedness, developmental thinking and inclusive approach are proving to be a milestone in strengthening the concept of 'Viksit Rajya-Viksit Bharat' (Developed State, Developed India).

'The Prime Minister's farsightedness, developmental thinking and inclusive approach are proving to be a milestone in strengthening the concept of 'Viksit Rajya-Viksit Bharat'. Under his leadership, work is being done towards the overall development of the country by bringing together the collective efforts of the states,' the Chief Minister said.

She further said, 'In this meeting, there was an in-depth discussion on the different needs and possibilities of the states, which will pave the way for making favourable policies for every sector and giving new impetus to development. The Prime Minister's guidance and encouragement are a source of inspiration for all of us, which will prove to be a guide for the progress of the country and the welfare of the people.'

Expressing Delhi's commitment to 'Viksit Bharat', Gupta added that the Delhi government will continue to work in alignment with PM Modi's vision. 'Working in accordance with the vision of the Prime Minister, we will give our full contribution in building a 'Viksit Bharat' and will continue to work in the direction of bringing positive change in the life of every citizen,' she stated.

A high-level meeting of Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) states was held in New Delhi on Sunday.

The conclave included a significant discussion on commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Emergency, declared on June 25, 1975. Leaders resolved to mark the anniversary in remembrance of the Emergency imposed by then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, a period that exposed citizens to widespread political turmoil and suppression of civil liberties.

The government of India announced last year, 2024, that June 25 will be remembered annually as 'Constitution Murder Day' in remembrance of the Emergency, which stands as a stark chapter in the nation's history.

Declared by then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the Emergency saw the suspension of fundamental rights and the imposition of strict censorship, aiming to quell political dissent and maintain order.

The legacy of the Emergency continues to serve as a reminder of the fragility of democratic freedoms and the necessity of safeguarding them against authoritarian tendencies.

Meanwhile, leaders at the conclave also passed two key resolutions: one applauding the armed forces for their role in Operation Sindoor, and another supporting the ongoing caste census initiative.

The conclave saw the participation of over 20 Chief Ministers and 18 Deputy Chief Ministers from various states, focusing on development, governance, and national issues under PM Modi's leadership. (ANI)
