LOS ANGELES, C.A. - February 22, 2021 - First Legal, a national leader in attorney services and litigation support, announced that it has acquired Redpoint Technologies LLC, an Electronic Discovery (eDiscovery) and litigation technology firm with over 25 years of in-house law firm expertise. The acquisition aligns with First Legal's commitment to meeting accelerating demand from clients seeking emerging and ever-more sophisticated professional legal services. This adds a sixth division to the firm: First Legal Discovery.
"The acquisition will transform how eDiscovery services integrate into the traditional litigation vendor model, enabling the legal industry to partner with a single provider for all its Discovery services. We are being asked as a legal community to give up the luxury of a slow evolution. The time is now to marry technology and legal action. We know Redpoint is the perfect partner in this mission," said Leatt Gilboa, President of First Legal Depositions & First Legal Digital, and now the newest division, First Legal Discovery.
Building on many years of working together as trusted business partners dedicated to quality and service, the joining of First Legal and Redpoint will offer clients access to best in class technologies and services, adding advanced data collection and processing, document review and production, and trial services to the robust suite of existing offerings from First Legal: e- filing, service of process, investigations, records retrieval, and court reporting services.
Alex Martinez, CEO of First Legal, said, "Both First Legal and Redpoint are entrepreneurially minded, seeking to promote transparency, teamwork, integrity and trust with the community we consider extended family. This is a union of people passionate to help others, and who won't sit back and wait, but will charge forward into the future of technology with extreme commitment, candor, and the willingness to do whatever it takes to help our clients win."
Founder and President of Redpoint Technologies, Chad Cooper, will maintain his leadership position as First Legal Discovery's Executive Director, bringing decades of in-house expertise to First Legal. He remarked, "Redpoint has been delivering eDiscovery and litigation technology solutions with an emphasis on leveraging cost-effective technology and providing exceptional client service. Our extensive in-house law firm experience has differentiated our professional services, as we have firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by lawyers, paralegals and legal professionals."
Cooper added, "Many of our clients already know First Legal because they have been working with them for years. Joining forces gives all of our clients the opportunity for increased continuity of service and streamlined communications for all of their case management needs from start to finish."
